As a Software Full-Stack Engineer, you will be involved in projects with special UI requirements as well as in the definition and construction of the services that support them. You will bring a diverse skill set that combines the web development trinity — HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with excellent knowledge of React or Vue, and solid back-end expertise in Python or Node.js, using frameworks like Django (and Django REST Framework), FastAPI, or Nest.js to build and maintain scalable systems and RESTful APIs. You also bring AI into your daily workflow — we work with Claude — using it to move faster while staying fully in control of the code you ship.
Your responsibilities will involve gathering customer requirements and building web applications — such as dashboards or landing pages — while also designing the APIs, data flows, and back-end logic behind them, following best practices. Although your work will span the full stack, we hope you enjoy being cross-functional and occasionally touching adjacent branches, such as Data or DevOps. You must follow the established plan to ensure the product is delivered on time, meets customer expectations, and adds value. Strong communication skills are essential for this role.
The tech stack used will include React or Vue on the front-end, and Django (with Django REST Framework), Airflow, Pandas, and others on the back-end. But we are always open to new technologies. For our infrastructure, we use Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Azure. CI/CD uses GitHub Actions and GitLab CI/CD.

Responsibilities

User experience
Design and maintain trusted web applications with a focus on UX and performance.
Back-end & APIs
Design and maintain scalable back-end systems, and develop and manage RESTful APIs.
Code quality
Write efficient, maintainable code, follow best practices, and conduct performance tuning to ensure quality and security.
Testing & troubleshooting
Implement tests across the stack and troubleshoot complex issues.
Collaboration
Collaborate with teams to deliver solutions and maintain documentation, contributing to sprint planning and follow-up.
Critical thinking
Contribute new ideas and features from scratch, always trying to question and reason every decision to be taken.

How will you work?
You will be an integral part of DKL’s Full-Stack team, working across the Front-End and Back-End sides and driving initiatives forward with a focus on collaboration and efficiency. The back-end teams are small at the moment and dedicated both to their own projects and to supporting other teams, such as the data team, so you will occasionally work with data using technologies such as Airflow, Pandas, or duckDB, typically following the Medallion architecture to orchestrate pipelines and move data from the source to the end customer. AI tooling is part of how we build: we use Claude day-to-day, and we expect you to leverage AI assistants to work faster without compromising on quality or ownership of the code you ship.
We organize ourselves using the Google Suite (Gmail, Meet, Docs, etc.), Slack, and GitHub for code repositories and technical documentation. We also use Atlassian tools (Jira & Confluence) for project management, ticket management, and internal documentation.

Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
Experience
At least 3 years of professional software development experience, with a solid command of both front-end and back-end work (or strong expertise on one side and a genuine drive to grow into the other).
Front-End
Proven experience in web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), including at least one of the most used libraries/frameworks (preferably React, but Vue and AngularJS will be taken into account).
Back-End
Proficiency in Python and its most relevant frameworks (like Django, Django REST Framework, Flask, FastAPI, Pydantic, or Pandas). Other languages will not be ruled out.
Databases
Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
Testing
Best practices using testing strategies with Vitest or Jest on the front-end, and pytest and/or unittest on the back-end.
Version control
Experience with Git and collaborative workflows (Git flow, GitHub flow, …).
AI-assisted development
Hands-on experience integrating AI tools into your daily development workflow. We use Claude, but experience with other AI assistants is equally valued (what matters is that you know how to use them effectively and critically).
Collaboration
Ability to collaborate effectively and lead projects. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to both work independently and collaborate with a larger team in a remote setting.
Other competencies
Self-management capacity, and being detail-oriented, with a focus on quality and accuracy.
Communication
Good level of English and strong communication skills. We do not expect Cambridge English, but we require sufficient proficiency to have technical conversations with our international customers.
